This show can be viewed at the Gallery at the Cultch (1895 Venables St, Vancouver) until October 29th.

From November 1 until January 31, 2017, the show moves to the Commercial Street Café Gallery (3599 Commercial Street, Vancouver). There is no opening reception this year (the downside of me living far away), but if you go with enough people, you can make your own party – the coffee is great and so is the food.

This fall I am having a solo show at the Gallery at the Cultch in Vancouver. The show runs from October 4th to 29th, with an opening reception on Wednesday, October 5th, 6-8pm. The Cultch is located at 1895 Venables Street, Vancouver, BC

In March 2017 I am having a solo show at the Terrace Art Gallery. I get to take over both gallery spaces, which means I have my work cut out for me. Exact dates TBA. The Terrace Art Gallery is at 4610 Park Avenue, Terrace BC

After 25 years of living in Vancouver I have relocated to Prince Rupert on the north coast of BC. The move resulted in a 3-month work stoppage (moving is HARD), but as of July 1st I have a new studio and I am back at it.

In addition to a new home and studio, I also have a new email address – suzohickey@gmail.com

My paintings continue to hang at the CCEC Credit Union at 2248 Commercial Drive in Vancouver. If you want information about any of the art that you see there, please contact me at suzohickey@gmail.com

The painting Yellow House No. 2 (Prince Rupert) is hanging at The Argosy in Prince Rupert (located at 985 3rd Avenue West).

I have posted the remaining images of paintings from my show Like the Back of My Hand.  (click on artworks)

My show in Campbell River, along with Terra Poirier’s show, was listed in the “must see” section of Canadian Art for the week of August 13 to 19. Canadian Art is Canada’s most widely read art magazine, both in print and digitally. http://canadianart.ca/must-sees/must-sees-this-week-august-13-to-19-2015/

I have a couple of paintings in the new web series “The Drive”, filmed on location on Vancouver’s Commercial Drive. The paintings grace the walls of the house that the main characters live in. You can watch now by going to this link: http://thedriveseries.com/index.html

In October I was chosen as “artist of the week” by Roundhouse Radio. Launching this fall, Roundhouse Radio 98.3 Vancouver is a commercial station with a community focus, hyperlocal content and an urban presence. Check out their website at www.roundhouseradio.com and while you are there, look up local artists by clicking on the button “community”.

In Artworks I have added a new section called Vancouver Specials. This gallery is a collection of my  paintings where these iconic Vancouver houses appear.

Like the Back of My Hand is at the Commercial Street Café gallery, from October 8th , 2015 until January 4th, 2016.  The Commercial Street Café is at 3599 Commercial Street, Vancouver.

2015

My next show in Vancouver will be (once again) at the Commercial Street Café gallery, from October 8th , 2015 until January 4th, 2016. The opening reception will be on Thursday, October 8th, at 7pm.

If you want to view any of the paintings before they go up in the show, you can arrange to visit my studio from October 3st to October 6th.

I still have paintings at the CCEC Credit Union at 2248 Commercial Drive. I’m not sure how long I will be able to have them displayed at the Credit Union, but if I am not replaced by another painter then I will switch out the old paintings with new paintings in the new year. If you want information about any of the art that you see there, please contact me at suzo@shaw.ca

Like the Back of My Hand is still at the Campbell River Art Gallery in Campbell River, BC until September 25th. www.crartgallery.ca
